Summary of the webinar:
The webinar will consider the importance of psychological centred care to support Dermatology patients. Dr Sandy McBride and Dr Alexandra Mizara will provide practical advice on how to provide psychologically centred care, without a psychologist and how to effectively manage emotion in busy clinics. This meeting has been developed, organised and funded by Eli Lilly and Company. Lilly products will be discussed at this meeting.

Dr Sandy McBride – Consultant Dermatologist, Royal Free Hospital, London
Dr Sandy McBride is a consultant dermatologist with a special interest in psoriasis and the psychological impact of skin conditions. As well as performing general dermatology, she leads a multi-disciplinary psoriasis service which aims to provide holistic care to people with psoriasis. She is also dermatology lead for the Royal Free psycho-dermatology service, a member of the British Association of Dermatologists psycho-dermatology working party and the See Psoriasis: Look Deeper collaboration. Her research interests include the management of psoriasis and the psychological impact of psoriasis and other skin diseases.

Dr Alexandra Mizara – Clinical Lead/Counselling Psychologist in Psychodermatology, Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Dr Alexandra Mizara is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and works in both the private sector and NHS in the UK. She has a specialist interest in psychodermatology, and has set up with Dr Sandy McBride a pioneering psychology-dedicated service for patients with skin conditions in a teaching hospital, Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in London. Her research interests lie in the psychological management and wellbeing of people with psoriasis, acne, alopecia areata, body image concerns and adjustment to physical change. Dr Mizara supervises doctoral theses in psychodermatology and is a keen advocate on integrating psychological care in physical health settings.
Dr Mizara has presented her research at several events, including congress of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, and annual meetings of the British Association of Dermatologists. She is a chartered member of the British Psychology Society and is registered with the Health Professions Council.
