Skin Infections: Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and the Need for Antimicrobial Stewardship
Wednesday 21 May 2025
18:00 – 19:00
The ‘Skin Infections: Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) And the need for Antimicrobial Stewardship’ webinar will be presented by GP, Dr Nisa Aslam on 21st May 2025 at 6pm.
For all health care professionals, an awareness of antimicrobial stewardship is vital in avoiding inappropriate use of antimicrobials.[1] From initial diagnosis, investigations and choice of treatments, awareness and avoidance of AMR should be prominent part of the patient management plan.

Dr Nisa Aslam’s presentation will also cover the use of antibiotics in skin infections and the role of health care professionals in educating patients and appropriate prescribing, including the use of topical non-antibiotic antimicrobials.

The Nystaform® range of products which is indicated for mild to moderate skin infections where bacterial and/or fungal infection is suspected, will be detailed as part of this webinar presentation. The Nystaform® range can be considered to be an appropriate topical treatment especially when supported by mycology and/or bacterial culture and sensitivity information. The Nystaform® range includes three products (please see further information below), none of which contain an antibiotic. Instead, the Nystaform® range provides antimicrobial activity by inclusion of an antiseptic (chlorhexidine) and an antifungal (nystatin).
The webinar will last for 40 minutes followed by a question-and-answer session. This webinar is sponsored by the Typharm Group. Typharm is a life science company founded in 1966, researching and providing medicines, speciality pharmaceuticals and consumer healthcare products to help improve the lives of millions of people in the UK and around the globe.
